Pros: Dark Audacity is an alternate version of Audacity with a darker theme.
Cons: You need to install an extension (LAME) to export .MP3 files (https://lame.buanzo.org/). As of writing this, Dark Audacity has not been updated since 2019.

Pros: Powerful software that can do basically anything that Adobe Premiere can do.
Cons: Very "heavy" software - makes my computer lag even though I have a decent machine. This app is complex and has a learning curve for new users. The homepage also has a lot of advertising from HitFilm which is annoying.

Pros: Video transcoder (changes one video file type to another, example: MP4 > MOV) Open source, lightweight program with an easy user interface and tons of capabilities.
Cons: Honestly I have no complaints. I love this program :-)

Pros: Plays any video file type (any codec).
Cons: Not a video editor, but I wanted to include it anyway because it's useful for playing unusual file types. No complaints here.
